Premier League Darts comes to Belgium for the first time in 2026: 'I honestly didn't see this coming'
PDC

Darts has been booming in Belgium for some time now, and fans received a major boost this evening. During the Premier League Darts 2025 Play-Offs, PDC chairman Barry Hearn officially announced that the roadshow will visit Belgium for the first time next year.

The sport’s popularity has soared in Belgium in recent years. Since 2022, the Belgian Darts Open in Wieze has become a fixture on the European Tour, and in 2024, the Flanders Darts Trophy was added to the calendar. Both events have drawn strong crowds and electric atmospheres.

Players have consistently praised the warm reception in Belgium, with near sell-out crowds across all sessions. Unsurprisingly, the demand for a Premier League night on Belgian soil has grown louder.

While the 17-week tournament has long been a staple in the UK, it has expanded in recent years to include successful stops in Germany and the Netherlands.

Now it’s Belgium’s turn. Speaking to VTM's Rudy Lanssens, Barry Hearn confirmed that a Premier League night is set to take place in Antwerp in early March 2026. The likely venue? The iconic Sportpaleis, which will be rebranded as the Afas Dome from September 1.

“Surprised, but thrilled”

Former Winmau World Masters champion and current VTM co-commentator Erik Clarys welcomed the news with enthusiasm. "I honestly didn’t see this coming," he admitted. "But it shows just how popular darts has become in our country. I’m sure it’s going to be a spectacular night."
