After a weekend spectacle in Wieze, we have arrived at the quarterfinals of the Belgian Darts Open 2025. Eight top darters will compete tonight for a spot in the semifinals.
The program continues from 7 p.m. at the Oktoberhallen in Wieze. We look ahead to the four exciting ties before a champion is crowned. Later in the evening, the semifinals and finals will also be played. Follow the conclusion also via our live scores.
Mike de Decker v Gerwyn Price
Belgian hope Mike de Decker will take on the in blood form Gerwyn Price. De Decker reached the quarterfinals after an impressive 6-3 victory over Martin Schindler, in which he recorded an average of 102.81. Earlier, he defeated Luke Humphries 6-4. De Decker will have to maintain that level against Price, who in his previous match defeated Damon Heta 6-3, posting an average of 101.30. 'The Iceman' has the experience and scoring power to put De Decker under pressure, but with the home crowd behind him, the Belgian might be able to pull off another shock.
But Price has also been the darling of the crowd this weekend. A sight he often hasn't seen. 'The Iceman' has delighted in giving the fans what they want.
Ross Smith v Stephen Bunting
Two Englishmen crossed swords in this quarterfinal. Ross Smith was strong against Matt Campbell (6-4) and threw almost 100 average. Stephen Bunting was also in excellent form and was convincing against Daryl Gurney (6-2), with an average of 100.34. This duel could become a spectacle, with finishes being the deciding factor.
Luke Littler v Dave Chisnall
Teenage sensation Luke Littler still had to pull out all the stops to beat Luke Woodhouse in the third round. 'The Nuke' fell behind 3-4 after an early 3-1 lead, but then still managed to win 6-4. It was actually not a very spectacular match from the reigning world champion, who nevertheless threw an average of 101.81. His opponent Dave Chisnall struggled against Ritchie Edhouse, but eventually managed to take the win 6-5 after a leg-decider. A 'Chizzy' in good form should be able to keep up with Littler scoring, but Chisnall will also need to take his chances on the doubles to get Littler in trouble.
James Wade v Jonny Clayton
The final quarterfinal is a clash between two experienced players: James Wade and Jonny Clayton. Wade especially made it very difficult for himself in his third round match against Bors Krcmar. 'The Machine' threw only 87 average, but Krcmar could not take advantage of a disappointing Wade after his stunt against Michael van Gerwen. In the end, Wade prevailed 6-4. Clayton had to go deep against Dirk van Duijvenbode, but dragged out a 6-5 victory after Van Duijvenbode left three match darts unused in the final leg. Wade and Clayton are two players who usually both can finish well. They can put that into practice Sunday night against each other.
The tournament will be broadcast by PDC TV. As usual with Euro Tour tournaments, the Belgian Darts Open consists of three tournament days. The afternoon sessions start daily at 1 p.m., while the evening sessions start at 7 p.m.
The first round will take place on Friday, where the 16 Pro Tour players will face 16 players who emerged from the various qualifying tournaments. The winners of these matches will face a player from the top-16 of the world rankings in the second round on Saturday. The third round will be played on Sunday afternoon, before the quarterfinals, semifinals and final are completed on Sunday evening.
All participants starting from the first round are guaranteed £1250 in prize money, while the top-16 enter from the second round and receive £2,500 anyway. This amount eventually rises to the grand prize of £30,000 for the winner.
An important detail is that players who are automatically seeded via the Order of Merit and lose their first match will not be awarded prize money on the various rankings. This does apply to qualifiers who are later designated as seeded by the withdrawal of others.
