The 30th Players Championship of the year was a triumph for Wessel Nijman yesterday in Leicester. The 25-year-old Dutchman was 8-3 too strong for Australian Damon Heta in the final. For Nijman it is the second PDC ranking title of his career. On the world ranking list, he climbs to 38th place.

The highest average of the day came in the name of Chris Dobey. 'Hollywood' beat Max Hopp 6-0 in the last sixteen, posting an average of 109.98. Dobey eventually reached the quarterfinals after a 6-2 defeat to Nijman.

Mike De Decker with second highest average

Mike De Decker provided the second highest average at Players Championship 30. 'The Real Deal' was 6-3 too strong for Dennie Olde Kalter at the last 32 and averaged 109.68 in that match.

The last 16 was then the end spot for De Decker, after a 6-1 defeat to Bradley Brooks. The 29-year-old Belgian remains number 20 in the world rankings and may now prepare for his title defense at the World Grand Prix, which starts next Monday.

Completing the top three highest averages at Players Championship 30 is Ryan Joyce. 'Relentless' was 6-3 too strong for Joe Hunt at the last 64, averaging 106.73.
