Last weekend the 2025 UK Open was played out in Butlins, Minehead. German number one Martin Schindler made it to the sixth round there, before his tournament ended with a 10-4 loss to Jonny Clayton. During the match however, one of the more curious moments you are ever likely to see in a darts match transpired.

As the 22nd seed, Schindler only had to start in the fourth round. He did so successfully by winning 10-7 over Mario Vandenbogaerde. One round later, he defeated Dylan Slevin 10-9. This allowed "The Wall" to take on Jonny Clayton in the last 16. During the warm-up on Board 2, however, things almost went badly wrong for the 28-year-old German. When he threw one of his practice darts toward the board, it bounced out off one of the wires and came straight back at Schindler with a vengeance, eventually ending up in the shoe of the German.

Fortunately, Schindler's reaction seemed more surprised than pained, and he jovially indicated to the audience that he was unharmed as those in attendance reacted in shock at the bizarre incident. The clip below shows Clayton laughing in the background after seeing what happened.

The clip was posted on X with the caption, "The most violent bounce-out you'll ever see."

As mentioned, Schindler eventually lost 10-4 to Clayton, who in turn lost out to the eventual tournament winner Luke Littler in the semi-finals.
