Many actors are in the business of leaving behind their most iconic roles, but these 20 would be thrilled to reprise their parts for a reboot.
John Krasinski
Deedle-Dee Productions/NBC
Every actor who was on The Office has a different relationship with the idea of a reboot, but one who would be totally down for it is John Krasinski, who played Jim in the iconic sitcom. Krasinski knows that The Office made his career boom, and he would love to play the character again.
Dave Foley
Brillstein-Grey Communications/NBC
It's been years since NewsRadio was on the air, but apparently, Dave Foley still thinks about his time on the series. If it ever gets picked up for a reboot, Foley will be there to reprise his role. And '90s sitcom lovers everywhere will rejoice.
Anthony Head
Mutant Enemy Productions/The WB/UPN
Not everyone wants to star in a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, namely Sarah Michelle Gellar, but Anthony Head is down to do one. Perhaps it can still happen with Head's character and a new direction.
Zachary Levi
College Hill Pictures, Inc.
If there's one thing Josh Schwartz knows how to do, it's create a TV series that actors fall in love with. He did it with Chuck, and Zachary Levi is totally up for a reboot. It's hard to imagine Levi is the only one from the cast and crew who wants that to happen.
Hilary Duff
Stan Rogow Productions/Disney Channel
Hilary Duff is so invested in playing Lizzie McGuire again that she has tried multiple times to get a reboot. The old Disney star has yet to be successful in her endeavors, but we sincerely wish her all the best, as we would like that reboot, too.
Satin City Productions/Fox
Frankie Muniz doesn’t act anymore, but there is one role reprisal that would bring him out of retirement: Malcolm. Muniz had such a good time filming Malcolm in the Middle that he would be down for a reboot, even if that meant acting again.
Satin City Productions/Fox
Malcolm in the Middle must’ve been a fun set because Bryan Cranston would like to see the show rebooted, too. Given that he can’t really reprise Walter White, this would be the best option for Cranston.
David Spade
Steven Levitan Productions
Just Shoot Me! doesn't sound like the name of a fun, funny sitcom that people miss and would love to see rebooted. But it is. Chief among those wanting a reboot is David Spade. The comedian was on the series for its entire run, and he'd love to reprise his role.
Mads Mikkelsen
Dino de Laurentiis Company/NBC
Hannibal fans might say that the series didn't get enough time on air. Mads Mikkelsen would probably agree with them. The actor would love to get the chance to play the iconic Hannibal Lecter again.
Emma Roberts
Prospect Films/Fox
If Emma Roberts ever steps away from the American Horror Story world, she should reprise her role from Scream Queens. What’s more, Robert wants to do it. Somebody needs to make this happen.
Kiernan Shipka
Weiner Bros. Productions/AMC
Kiernan Shipka has Mad Men to thank for her career, and she would love to play her role in the series again. Seeing Don Draper’s children navigate adulthood in the ‘80s and ‘90s would actually be an interesting series.
Patrick Duffy
Bickley-Warren Productions/ABC/CBS
Patrick Duffy would like to see Step by Step rebooted. Unfortunately, the series would look a lot different now after Suzanne Somers's death, but there's plenty of other material to work with for a series reboot.
Jaleel White
Miller-Boyett Productions/ABC/CBS
Haven’t we all wondered where Steve Urkel is today? If somebody wanted to make it a reality for us to all find out, Jaleel White would love to play the iconic character again. Imagine how healing it would be for Americans to hear White say, “Did I do that?” again.
Jennifer Garner
ABC/Bad Robot
Alias is still one of Jennifer Garner's most well-known gigs. The actress won an Emmy for her work on the series, and if she had the chance, she'd give the role another go. We'd like to know who's stopping this reboot from happening.
Mary-Louise Parker
Tilted Productions/Showtime
Mary-Louise Parker wants to play her role from Weeds again, too. That series would be wildly fascinating today, considering recreational use of the drug has since become legal in many states. Perhaps the reboot could feature Parker’s character running an above-board business.
Tim Allen
Wind Dancer Productions/ABC
Everyone's favorite handyman, Tim Allen, wants to see Home Improvement get rebooted. The man managed to get a series spin-off of The Santa Clause franchise, so who's to say he can't get this reboot made, too?
David Soul
Spelling-Goldberg Productions/ABC
Of all the reboots to happen, Starsky & Hutch seems like one of the least likely, especially now. But until he died in 2024, David Soul was game for a reboot of the iconic series.
Reba McEntire
Acme Productions/The CW/The WB
Reba McEntire can do it all, and she proved that when she starred in her eponymous sitcom. The show recently hit Netflix and was introduced to a whole new crop of people who missed out on it the first time. Given McEntire’s desire to reprise the role, perhaps there is some hope for that reality.
Sarah Hyland
20th Century Fox Television/ABC
Everybody who was in Modern Family loved their time on the show, including Sarah Hyland. The former teen is game for reprising her role as Haley in the iconic sitcom. Seeing the kids as young adults would make many hearts sing.
Rachel Bilson
Fox
Rachel Bilson wants to see a reboot of The O.C. , but she has some conditions, namely, that she wants to see Mischa Barton reprise her role as Marissa Cooper. This is a bit implausible, but Bilson has assured fans that in her version of The O.C., Seth and Summer are still married, so at least we have that to hold onto.
