20 celebrities whose wax figures went horribly wrong

Honestly, it would be less terrifying to run into a bloodthirsty Edward Cullen than the wax figure made of Robert Pattinson. It’s very unsettling. Many have been made of the vampiric icon, but none of his wax figures are good. 

To be quite honest, it’s hard to choose which Miley Cyrus wax figure is the worst. Between her hanging on her wrecking ball and all the Hannah Montana wax replicas, there are plenty of poor options. But the wax figure of Cyrus sitting underneath teeth is particularly unsettling. 

If your only frame of reference for Naomi Campbell were her wax figure, you’d wonder how she ever became a supermodel. The real-life Campbell is much, much more beautiful than the wax version.  

There are so many iconic iterations of Lady Gaga for a wax figure artist to choose from, and yet none have quite captured the star singer. They’re not particularly bad wax figures; they just don’t look like Gaga. 

Some wax figures of Prince William aren’t bad, but others are downright terrible. Funnily enough, some of the Prince William wax figures look more like King Charles than his son. Those Windsor genes run strong, even in wax. 

Beyoncé is a beautiful woman, but the wax figure of her based on her “Single Ladies” music video does not do her justice. Between the bad eye makeup and the plasticity of the wax, her wax figure just looks scary. 

Justin Bieber has been in the spotlight since he was a teenager. Thanks to his young stardom, the singer has wax figures of himself through each stage of adolescence, as well as into adulthood. And tragically, none of them are good. 

Maybe some people are just harder to mold with wax than others. If that’s the case, Ariana Grande must be in that category. Her wax figures just can’t get her features right. Hopefully, someone tries again and nails it. 

One benefit to making a wax figure of Kim Kardashian is that there are multiple versions of the reality star to work from. Unfortunately, Kardashian’s wax figure doesn’t look like any of her past selves. 

Not every wax figure made of Taylor Swift is bad, but no wax figure made of her is good. There’s always something that’s just slightly off, but it manages to make a mess out of the entire statue. 

David Beckham is so handsome that you might think he’s been carved out of wax, but if you take a close look at some of his actual wax figures, you’ll realize that’s not the case. They don’t like a thing like him. 

Is it harder to sculpt adolescents out of wax than it is adults? If so, that might explain why some of Daniel Radcliffe’s wax figures are so poorly done. Thankfully, he was sculpted as Harry Potter, so it’s easy to detect who the figure is supposed to look like. 

Adele is an iconic woman, so each of her wax figures should be equally iconic. Tragically, that is not the case. If it weren’t for the way her hair is styled and the way she’s dressed in her wax figure, there would be no way to know that it’s supposed to resemble Adele. 

There’s a reason wax figure artists choose their subjects’ most iconic looks. If Nicki Minaj’s wax figure weren’t dressed as her in the “Anaconda” video, it would be very hard to tell who the figure is supposed to resemble. 

Honestly, if Jennifer Lopez wanted to sue the sculptor for causing mental distress because of how her wax figure turned out, she would have the public’s support. Her wax figure is unrecognizable. 

No figure made to look like Cristiano Ronaldo — wax or otherwise — has ever been done well. Artists should just stop trying. He’s already immortalized thanks to his soccer talent. We don’t need him in wax, too. 

We, personally, would like to remember Meryl Streep as the beautiful, ethereal actress whose performances defined every movie she’s ever been in. Instead, we have a terrifying wax figure trying to redefine her legacy as some sort of avian nightmare. 

Leonardo DiCaprio has had many wax figures sculpted after him, and each one looks like a wax figure in the worst way. But at least one of his wax figures has him holding his Oscar. He may not have a good wax figure, but he is talented.

One of Nicole Kidman’s wax figures is so bad that it’s hard to tell who it is, even when you already know. Kidman’s character in Moulin Rouge! was sick. She didn’t turn into an unrecognizable version of herself. 

It looks like they just didn’t even try with Jennifer Aniston’s wax figure. We would not claim that wax figure if we were the Friends star. Aniston can take solace in the fact that that is most definitely not what she looks like in real life.
