H.E.R. is a stellar performer with an even more amazing voice. The singer has released popular songs like "Back of My Mind" and "Come Through" and has amassed a huge following of fans since then. In the early 2020s, when accepting an award from Billboard, she spoke about her heritage and how it has shaped her music:

"Being a Black and Filipino woman, I’ve never really fit in anywhere. It’s not something you see all the time, especially in music, not really knowing where to fit in and trying to find my identity. But I found my voice as a blend of the two. I take a lot from my father’s culture, and I take a lot from my mother’s, but both have embraced me so much, so I’m really thankful for that.”

Saweetie, who's known for creating big hits "My Type" and "Tap In," is also half-Filipino. In her 2021 interview with Teen Vogue, she discussed her upbringing and how her mother's expectations helped her reach the level she's at today. 

“My mom’s a tiger mom. She would make me rewrite homework assignments if she thought the penmanship was sloppy. She wanted straight A’s. Her disciplining me at a young age got me into the habit of achieving high goals.”

“Hollywood is racist and wouldn’t cast me with a last name that made them uncomfortable," she wrote on Instagram. "Changing my name doesn't change the fact that my blood is half Chinese, that I lived in China, speak Mandarin, or that I was culturally raised both American and Chinese. It means I had to pay my rent, and Hollywood is racist and wouldn't cast me with a last name that made them uncomfortable. I'm doing everything I can with the platform I have to make sure no one has to change their name again just to get work."
