Blade vs Buffy: Death Battle Between Vampire Hunters

Born Eric Brooks, Blade is a half-human, half-vampire known as a dhampir. This aspect means he possesses the powers of a vampire but none of the weaknesses. And he uses these abilities to slay the bloodsuckers and avenge his human mother. He’s a master of various martial arts with a preference for Krav Maga. Additionally, he wields a large arsenal, which includes numerous swords and the Breathing Gun.

Buffy Anne Summers is the latest in a long line of vampire slayers. She lived a typical life until the Watcher Merrick revealed her destiny and trained her. Since then, she and her friends regularly combated numerous monsters that threaten their hometown. She uses various traditional and non-traditional vampire-hunting weaponry as well as the powerful Slayer Scythe. Also, she possesses near-superhuman physical abilities and has mastered a myriad of fighting styles.

Clash of the Slayers

The showdown begins with Blade and Buffy walking into a nightclub filled with vampires. At first, they work together to slay the bloodsuckers before turning on each other. The hunters push each other to their limits with Marvel’s dhampir having the slight edge. But the chosen slayer comes back and decapitates him with the Slayer Scythe. She then dons his sunglasses and delivers a corny yet appropriate one-liner.

Afterward, the DEATH BATTLE hosts, Wiz and Boomstick, break down the outcome of the fight. They explain that the dhampir was more versatile with his weaponry, armor, and powers. However, Buffy possessed greater physical strength and the collective skill of the previous slayers. She also had better trump cards, able to counter anything Marvel’s half-vampire threw at her. And that’s why The Slayer came out ahead in this battle of the vampire hunters.

Final Thoughts

I must say that this Blade vs Buffy DEATH BATTLE episode was undoubtedly outstanding! And highly appropriate since it’s now the time of year for vampires and monsters. I also love that the showdown itself was live-action instead of being animated like usual. The people who portrayed the featured combatants and fought as them deserve some applause.

Also, I have no qualms about the outcome of this match. Marvel‘s dhampir was tough, but his opponent was stronger and specialized in slaying vampires. Add in her collective experience and Slayer Scythe, and her winning makes sense. Again, an incredible battle that definitely warrants a rewatch for Halloween. I’m hoping the next episode of DEATH BATTLE is just as spectacular.
