The Armor system saw massive changes at the start of the Edge of Fate. For the final Destiny 2 update, Monument of Triumph, further updates are coming to the Armor 3.0 system. That includes six more armor archetypes to increase build variety, and updates to Exotic Armor. Exotic Armor will finally become tier 5s, increasing their potency in the current Destiny 2 sandbox.
In the current 3.0 system, there are six types of armor archetypes. The Monument of Triumph update is introducing six more:
All Armor 3.0 drops can get the new archetypes. The only exception is the Exotic class items. To increase the chance of getting the archetype you want, the ghost mod increases your chance to one in two (was one in three). The Armor 3.0 versions for the raid activities will not have raid mods.
All Exotic Armor garnered in the post-Edge of Fate era will become Tier 5. They will get the Tier 5 stats and access to all tuning mods.
There are two changes to the Armor Set bonuses.
Ride Together, Die Together – Smoke Jumper two-piece
Superluminal Motion – Wayward Psyche four-piece
