As a ‘90s kid, there are some shows that seemed like they were always on TV. It was impossible to live a single day of my life without seeing a Saved By the Bell or Friends episode pop up while flipping through the channels. The same can be said for Everybody Loves Raymond, which wasn’t aimed towards me and I never really actively watched it, yet found it to be funny. And, watching it as an adult made me realize that it is a great series, indeed. Now, to celebrate the show’s legacy, the cast of Everybody Loves Raymond is coming together for what CBS is calling a 30th anniversary special.
However, that’s not quite accurate. The series made its debut in September 1996, which means it just celebrated its 29th anniversary. Perhaps the network could’ve celebrated 20 years since the show’s finale, which happened in May 2005. The 90-minute Everybody Loves Raymond reunion special will happen on November 24, with star Ray Romano and the show’s creator Phil Rosenthal serving as its host.
Cast members who are joining this event include Brad Garrett, Patricia Heaton, Monica Horan, Madylin Sweeten, and Sullivan Sweeten. Together, they will talk about what it was like making this show and share some unseen outtakes, too. And, for those cast members who have passed away, a tribute will take place to honor their memory. It all sounds like a nostalgic good time.
