Kristin Cavallari, best known for her role on Laguna Beach and The Hills, once told fellow reality star Bethenny Frankel that MTV producers had her faking storylines when she was on the show years ago. "I faked relationships, faked fights. I don't care anymore. I can tell you. At this point, it's been so many years," she said. "Laguna Beach, they really just manipulated situations and put us in situations that we normally wouldn't have been in, or we'd have to film something that maybe happened a month ago or hasn't happened yet — stuff like that."

Dance Moms star Maddie Ziegler was always front and center on the Lifetime reality show. However, her stardom came with a lot of negativity from her castmates. In one interview with Cosmopolitan, the dancer said producers told her what to say.

"People thought I was a brat because, in all my interviews, I would say, 'I'm the best. I know I'm going to win.' But that's because the producer was telling me to say that. I don't think I'm better than everyone else," she said.

MTV's The Hills will never beat the scripted allegations, and it seems like they're okay with that. "As [the show] went on, it was very manipulated and guided, and you're kinda put in these scenarios where you would show up, and you didn't know what you were in for until you were there, and you wanted to run out, but they lock the door on you," she said.

In a surprising interview with People, the OG of the OC dragged Bravo for faking the later season of The Real Housewives of Orange County. “I was ready to go,” she said before saying the series lost the plot. "It just became fake. Why do you want to go on an internationally famous show and be mean? What we’re supposed to be doing is really helping each other! It’s a tough world out there!”

She continued, “I don’t create a storyline, like so many of these women do. I read somewhere that someone said, ‘My storyline was over.’ Hold on. Last time I checked, this is a reality show. There [are] no storylines. Some of the other girls create fake storylines. I never have, I never will."

America's Next Top Model judge and OG reality TV pot-stirrer Janice Dickinson said that her tough-girl persona on the modeling competition series was not real life. Therefore, she had zero regrets about her behavior. "Um, no. It was acting. And that's that," she said

Netflix's biggest reality TV villain, Harry Jowsey, also spilled behind-the-scenes tea about his show Too Hot to Handle. "In these situations, if they know that you've got a problem or you need to have a chat with someone, they'll just point you in the right direction to get a result or to get that conversation happening and get to the end goal," he said. They're not forcing you to say or do anything you don't want to. They just kind of help nudge you in the correct direction."
