The co-writer of The Dark Knight is tempted to revisit his blockbuster 2008 Batman hit.

In an interview with SHOWSHA, Jonathan Nolan says, “Wouldn’t that be a dream…If I had the chance to go back and work on that again, absolutely."

Not content with having Fallout as the second most-watched series on Prime Video, the show’s co-creator (alongside Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner) is down to return to the movie that made his name.

Nolan worked on both The Dark Knight, and its sequel, The Dark Knight Rises. His brother, Chris Nolan, directed all three movies in the trilogy, starting with Batman Begins.

In all likelihood, however, Nolan probably won’t get the chance to continue the storyline established in those movies. Batman now exists in a new universe, as played by Robert Pattinson in The Batman. Pattinson is set to reprise his role in The Batman Part II, coming 2026.

Meanwhile, Nolan is hard at work putting together Fallout season 2, which has been confirmed. So realistically, there’s only so many hours in the day.

Nolan talks about The Dark Knight from 9:16 onwards.
