After her introduction in 2021's Hawkeye and cameo in The Marvels, fans of the MCU have been eagerly waiting to see Hailee Steinfeld back on their screens as Kate Bishop. Naturally, when her name did not appear on one of the chairs during Marvel Studios' five-and-a-half-hour live stream for Avengers: Doomsday, some were disappointed. However, it has been confirmed that the cast list isn't complete just yet.
So, is there a chance of Steinfeld joining that incredible list? Well, in an interview with Backstage, the actress expressed, "I’m excited about the idea of continuing to grow with a character like Kate, especially in something as huge as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You get to go back to your family; you get to go back to that little home that then becomes part of this grander picture. I love that character, and I totally understand why she is so loved."
Kate Bishop isn't Steinfeld's only Marvel role, she also voices Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman in the animated Spider-Verse movies. She is returning for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which will be released on June 4, 2027.
Right now, she is promoting Ryan Coogler's Sinners. The rest of the cast includes Michael B. Jordan, Miles Caton, Jack O'Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller, and Delroy Lindo.
Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.
Steinfeld told PEOPLE that the film "had such an impact on me personally," adding, "I'm so grateful for the deeply personal connection that each of us have [to the material], mine being with my family history, with my grandfather, who I wish was still here to answer all the questions that I have that this movie raised for me and making this movie raised."
Sinners will be released in theaters next Friday.
