Here's the first look at Nicolas Cage's 'Spider-Noir'
Sony/Prime Video

Although Spider-Man: Brand New Day is gearing up to start production soon, another live-action Spidey series is already shooting. At the upfront TV presentation in New York, Prime Video showed off the first image of Nicolas Cage in costume for the upcoming series Spider-Noir, which features a version of the wallcrawler in a hard-boiled, gangster-ruled, 1930s New York City. Cage will reprise his role as Spider-Man Noir, which he played to perfection in the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The image below looks like the animated version of the Marvel Comics hero come to life.

Here’s Your First Look at Nicolas Cage’s SPIDER-NOIR_1 Sony/Prime Video

According to Sony Television, Spider-Noir “Tells the story of an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.” Spider-Noir will do something interesting, as it will be available in both black and white and in color.

Given that the word “noir” is in the title, it makes sense that there would be a black-and-white option to watch the show. Although not confirmed, rumor has it that the hero of this series technically won’t be Peter Parker. Instead, his name will be Ben Reilly. This is the name for Peter Parker’s clone, the Scarlet Spider, in the Marvel Comics universe. So, sounds to us like a Peter Parker multiversal variant.

Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag, Killing Eve) will direct and executive produce the first two episodes. Oren Uziel (22 Jump Street) and Steve Lightfoot (The Punisher, Shantaram) will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Even though Nicolas Cage is playing the lead role, we assume it won’t be the exact same Spider-Man Noir from Into the Spider-Verse. Although it would be super fun if it was the same version. As we know, the Spider-Verse is endless. Spider-Noir will release Prime Video at some point in 2026.
