Although a new season of Jeopardy! is just kicking off, the producers are already looking ahead to the tournaments next year. The Tournament of Champions is the first tournament that takes place. Here is everything we know about the 2027 competition.
The Tournament of Champions brings back Jeopardy! contestants who have won at least four games, and gives them another chance to prove who is the best winner from the past year. If a contestant wins five games, they are automatically given a spot in the tournament. Those who win four games are sort of in limbo until the full season is played. If not enough players win five or more games, then some four-game winners will compete in the competition. This season, there were a lot of super champions.
One change that is coming this season is that qualification for the post-season has ended. Whoever qualified in Season 42 will be who is playing. They are starting fresh in Season 43.
Here is everything we know about the 2027 Tournament of Champions. More details will be announced closer to the time.

Although an exact premiere date has not been announced, a press release stated that the TOC will air in January and February 2027. Check back for an exact premiere date closer to the time.
“We are moving our annual postseason tournaments, the biggest events of the season, to just after the holidays, when audiences are home and ready to tune in,” executive producer Michael Davies, said in the release.
“With an extraordinary field that includes a nearly unprecedented number of super-champions competing at the highest level, we want give our best players the biggest spotlight possible.”
31-game champion Jamie Ding is returning to the Alex Trebek stage to compete. The Celebrity Jeopardy! winner from the previous season, which was Mina Kimes this season, typically competes as well.
A rep confirmed that five super champions, will be among the field, as well as other top champions and tournament winners, including Masters, JIT, Second Change, and more, will all compete. The exact lineup has not been announced except for Ding. See who has qualified here. Most likely, the five super champions would be Ding, Harrison Whitaker (14 games), Caleb Groen (12 games), Adam Remsen (12 games), and Tristan Williams (10 games).
The theme of “Knowledge Wins” will be on display and will make for an especially competitive TOC.
As always, Ken Jennings will be back as the host of the tournament.
The Tournament of Champions will air on the same channel that regular Jeopardy! episodes air on. Since they are in syndication, it is not the same throughout the country. They will, however, stream on Hulu and Peacock the following day.
