John Mulaney confirms Olivia Munn's pregnancy: 'We're both really, really happy'

There's a strong argument to be made that nobody crammed more into the last 12 months than John Mulaney.

The 39-year-old standup comedian recapped everything that he's been through since September 2020 to begin his 19-minute segment on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" on Tuesday night.

"I went to rehab in September. I got out in October. I move out of my home from my ex-wife. I host Saturday Night Live on Halloween. I relapse on drugs after the show — not directly after. ... I did relapse back onto drugs after that. And then I'm told I took a job here, and I remember you asked me to do 'Royal Watch.' ... Let's see. Then I continued using drugs. You and some other friends staged an intervention, as you recall. I went to rehab again — this time for two months. I got out in February. I lived in sober living for another month and a half.

"Then in the spring, I went to Los Angeles and met and started to date a wonderful woman named Olivia. You know Olivia Munn. I met her actually for the first time in life at your wedding to your wife, Alexi, so it's nice something good came out of the wedding. ... It is a very, very lucky thing to have met this woman."

Eventually, after joking about the insurrection and comparing himself to Bambi, Mulaney confirmed that he and Munn, 41, are expecting a baby together.

"We're both really, really happy," the two-time Emmy winner gushed.

It was first reported last December by Page Six that Mulaney was entering a 60-day rehabilitation program for alcohol and cocaine addiction and then again broke the news in late February that he was "doing well in outpatient sober care."

Mulaney returned to the stage for the first time post-rehab with a new set titled "John Mulaney: From Scratch" in early May at New York City's City Winery in Manhattan. Around the same time, news broke that Mulaney was in the process of divorcing artist Anna Marie Tendler after nearly seven years of marriage.

People reported Mulaney was dating Munn three days later.

Back on "Late Night," Meyers and Mulaney humorously recounted the intervention staged with the help of a professional interventionist. Meyers called the day "awful," and Mulaney expressed regret over insisting he was sober that day, even though he wasn't and wanting "the credit for days I hadn't used drugs."

"You guys saved me from drugs," Mulaney told Meyers to conclude. "And Olivia and this baby have helped save me from myself and this early journey out of recovery. And yeah, I don't have a joke for that. I'm really grateful to you, buddy. Thank you. I love you."
