KPop Demon Hunters is joining the Criterion Collection.

Criterion has announced that the Oscar-winning Netflix animated film will be released on Nov. 3, 2026, as Spine No. 1333. The release will be available in 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD formats.

Directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, KPop Demon Hunters centers on HUNTR/X, a fictional girl group whose members—Rumi, Mira and Zoey—balance pop stardom with their secret mission to protect fans from supernatural forces.

The film's music played a major role in its global success. Its breakout song "Golden," performed by the singing voices of EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, became one of the defining tracks associated with the film's rise. At the 98th Academy Awards on March 15, 2026, KPop Demon Hunters won Best Animated Feature, while "Golden" won Best Original Song. The song also became the first K-pop song to win an Oscar. The Criterion release will include a three-disc 4K UHD and Blu-ray combination package, a two-disc standalone Blu-ray edition and a two-disc DVD edition.

The 4K UHD and Blu-ray special edition features a new 4K digital master approved by Kang and Appelhans, along with Dolby Atmos audio and Dolby Vision HDR. The package also includes a full-length animatic with a new introduction from the directors, a new making-of documentary, lyric videos and the film's trailer.

Additional features include two video essays from filmmakers Taylor Ramos and Tony Zhou of Every Frame a Painting, an essay by critic Karen Han and collectible postcards featuring original illustrations by artists who worked on the film. The release also includes English subtitles for deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers and English descriptive audio.

The cover art was created by character designer Ami Uebayashi Thompson. Criterion lists suggested retail prices of $49.95 for the 4K UHD/Blu-ray edition, $39.95 for the Blu-ray edition and $29.95 for the DVD edition.

The release marks another stage in the film's rapid journey from its 2025 Netflix debut to an awards-season winner and now a physical-media title in one of cinema's best-known collections.
