Lil Wayne will contribute to 'Undisputed' after show's hiatus

On his podcast/YouTube show, Fox Sports media personality Skip Bayless announced that rap legend and personal friend Lil Wayne will be a contributor to "Undisputed" when the show returns from its hiatus.

If this seems out of the blue to you, it shouldn't, as Bayless has often brought up his friendship with the rapper over the years, even as far back as when the two shared the TV studio when Bayless was working at ESPN. Bayless said that Mr. Carter would appear on the show on Fridays,

The opening was created after Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe took a buyout from Fox Sports, leaving the company following the NBA Finals in June. It seemed as if the relationship between Sharpe and Bayless took a turn for the worse over time, but the apparent final straw dealt with Bayless' handling of a controversial tweet after Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin suffered (but recovered) from cardiac arrest on the field in Cincinnati back in December.

Shortly after Sharpe's departure, some internal candidates were reportedly considered, including LeSean McCoy, the former NFL running back who currently works on "Speak," one of Fox Sports' other debate shows. However, another former NFL star appears to be in the running as Bayless' full-time co-host, Richard Sherman. A member of the famed "Legion of Boom" Seattle Seahawks teams, Sherman is entering his second season as an analyst for Thursday Night Football on Amazon's Prime Video, a position that wouldn't keep him away from working with FOX.

"Undisputed" took time off not long after Sharpe left and not because anyone was taking a summer vacation. Truth be told, it would be flattering if Bayless read our choices for a potential replacement – down to the theme song – and decided to let the Grammy-winning artist have the co-host chair for a spell.
