While on BBC Radio 1 to promote The Electric State , which premieres on Netflix today, Millie Bobby Brown played a game of Kids Ask Difficult Questions. One of those questions from Monty, aged 10, asked if she really liked Joe Keery's music? For those who don't know, her Stranger Things co-star makes music under the name Djo.
The actress was quick to respond that yes, she does love his music.
"I'll be honest, when I first listened to it, I had no idea it was him, which was what he wanted, that's kind of what his objective was," she explained. "Then, I went on to set and I totally fangirled after 9 years of knowing this man. I went up to him as if I was a brand new human being being like, 'Oh my god, I love your music.'"
She continued to reveal that she will actually start humming a person's music when she's around them, naming Jon Bon Jovi, who is her father-in-law, Keery, and even Ariana Grande as examples.
Keery: "We sort of got to that last day, and it was like... everything really hit on that last day of shooting and then, I stuck around and watched the other cast members wrap. It was just emotional and great. Those people are family for life for me."
The actor has starred alongside Brown in Stranger Things since the first season as Steve Harrington. On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he opened up about filming the fifth and final season, saying, "We shot for about a year, and it was while I was working on all this stuff [his new album, The Crux]. But to wrap it all up and kinda the anticipation of working on something for so long — I mean, it’s been one-third of my life, really. It was emotional."
Stranger Things season 5 is set to be released this year.
