Mindy Kaling's 'Sex Lives of College Girls' renewed by HBO Max

Sex Lives of College Girls just enrolled for sophomore year.

Created by Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble, SLOCG has officially been renewed for a second season at HBO Max:

Sex Lives of College Girls premiered with two episodes Nov. 18. Three more episodes were dropped to the streamer each of the following two Thursdays (Nov. 25, Dec. 2), and the final two episodes of the first season will arrive this Thursday (Dec. 9).

The series follows Essex College freshmen Bela Malhotra (Amrit Kaur), Leighton Murray (Renee Rapp), Kimberly Finkle (Pauline Chalamet) and Whitney Chase (Alyah Chanelle Scott) as they become unlikely roommates.

"In terms of the sexual parts of the show, virtually nothing," Kaling told The Hollywood Reporter in a recent interview, answering how much of the show is autobiographical. "That’s all my imagination or the experiences of my more romantically advanced writing staff. All the fear about grades and not fitting in, that I pulled from my own experience. That’s the reason I wanted to do the show. It’s called The Sex Lives of College Girls, but we wanted to tell a story of four passionate, bright girls in college. The romantic stuff just felt like a good hook."
