NBC cancels 'Grosse Pointe Garden Society'

NBC has decided not to renew Grosse Pointe Garden Society for a second season, going into its 2025-26 lineup. According to Deadline, it came down to the fact that it would have been difficult for the series to grow its audience on Peacock if moved to the streaming service. The news comes as the options of the cast were set to expire on Monday.

“Grosse Pointe Garden Society” follows four members of a suburban garden club who find their lives intertwined by scandal, mischief and a shared secret – a murder no one wants to talk about. As dark truths begin to rot their lives under the surface, they struggle to remain as perfect as the flowers blooming in their garden above.

The series starred Melissa Fumero, Aja Naomi King, Ben Rappaport, AnnaSophia Robb, Matthew Davis, Alexander Hodge, Nancy Travis, and Felix Wolfe.

"I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Showbiz ain’t for the faint of heart. Our beloved Grosse Pointe Garden Society was canceled today. I’ll sure miss working with these (and all of our) amazing folks every day. This was a special one," Rappaport wrote on Instagram, fans quick to share their disappointment.

Wolfe commented, "The best of the best. love you my philosophy brotha! God Father movie night will happen."

The first season was a total of 13 episodes, airing from February to May and ending on a major cliffhanger that sadly won't get answered. Grosse Pointe Garden Society was written and created by Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs, who served as co-showrunners and executive producers along with Casey Kyber.

The rest of the scripted shows that were cancelled by NBC before the fall include Night Court, Suits: LA, The Irrational, Found, and Lopez vs. Lopez.
