More and more news is pouring out about Greta Gerwig's Netflix adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia, which will be at least two films based on the beloved C. S. Lewis books.

Netflix's CEO, Ted Sarandos, told TIME that Gerwig's films "won't be counter to how the audience may have imagined those worlds...but it will be bigger and bolder than they thought."

Sarandos called Gerwig an "incredible visionary" and spoke to how her adaptation will be "rooted in faith", which is to be expected when adapting the work of C. S. Lewis.

If you saw Gerwig's Barbie when it hit theaters in the summer of 2023, the news that her Narnia adaptions will be a twist on expectation will come as no surprise.

Before Barbie, Gerwig adapted Louisa May Alcott's Little Women, which made waves among critics and audiences.

Praised for its unique spin on a story told on screen many times before, Gerwig's Little Women wove autobiography from Alcott's life into the fictional narrative of the book.

Starring Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, Emma Watson, Eliza Scanlen, Timothée Chalamet, Laura Dern and Meryl Streep, Little Women scored six Oscar nominations, including a win for Jacqueline Durran's costume design.

In the same TIME interview, Gerwig spoke to the "instant excitement" and "instant terror" that comes with adapting work that has shaped her.
