New 2026 Spider-Man Movie Gains Star Trek Star

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the next film supposedly coming from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Most importantly, it is the newest chapter in the saga of the MCU’s iconic wall-crawler. It’ll finally showcase the events and consequences following his last spectacular escapade. And rumor has it he’ll team up with two other prominent Marvel characters.

Of course, this movie will feature a remarkable cast with Tom Holland taking the lead. There’s even talk that Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will return and reprise their respective roles. But the latest news is that a Star Trek actor has signed one. Who is this celebrity and what role did they play in the aforementioned acclaimed franchise?

The Webslinger Superhero of the MCU

Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues the story of Peter Parker, who moonlights as a vigilante. It all started when Tony Stark recruited the fledgling do-gooder in Captain America: Civil War. Afterward, Peter got tangled with a weapons smuggling ring run by a high-flying mastermind. And then he had to stop a master of illusion from committing a massive atrocity. The aftermath of the latter even led to his secret identity becoming public knowledge.

Peter’s latest adventure involved him accidentally unleashing supervillains from various alternate universes. Luckily, his girlfriend, his best friend, and two other Spider-Men were there to help him. The downside is that he had to commit the ultimate sacrifice to reverse his mistake. And, despite everything, he remained strong and continued being a friendly neighborhood superhero.

New Spider-Man: Brand New Day Star

Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon will reprise their iconic roles for Brand New Day. We’re even getting Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal, Sadie Sink, and Liza Colón-Zayas. And recently, the cast has gained a new addition in the form of . . . Melanie Scrofano.

Scrofano is currently famous for her work in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. And now she’s joining the Brand New Day ensemble in a presently undisclosed role. The announcement appeared on her Instagram account, alongside a humorous picture. Still, it’ll be interesting to see what she brings to this upcoming Marvel movie.

Final Thoughts

I’m immensely excited for Spider-Man: Brand New Day since I love the MCU films. I adore how they portray Peter as a typical teenager who’s also a superhero. I’m especially eager to see how things play out following No Way Home‘s events. It’ll be interesting, and heartbreaking, to see the wall-crawler adjusting to his new solitary lifestyle.

I’m not familiar with Melanie Scrofano and not really into Star Trek. Nevertheless, I’m curious to see what her role will be. And how she overall contributes to the extensive Marvel Cinematic Universe. We’ll find out once the flick premieres in theaters next year on July 31.
