Post Malone Going Country?

Known for his unique blend of hip-hop, pop and rock influences with some rap incorporated, Post Malone would not be the first to come to mind when talking about country music, but that all may be changing.

Malone grew up in Grapevine, Texas, and gained a love and appreciation for country music from his mom.  As a guest on the "Joe Rogan Experience" podcast, Malone spoke of his love for country music, even crediting Johnny Cash for being an influence.

Malone, or "Posty" as he is known to his fans, garnered attention on Thursday night when his Instagram showed a video of him jamming to a country song. A very specific country song. It seems it was a "teaser" to a collaboration with Luke Combs.  Both artists commented on the post even with toasting beer emojis.

The actual title was not released, but the phrase "Ain't Got a Guy For That" was repeated multiple times. Malone appears to be genuinely happy and enjoying the music while playing air drums and holding his smoke.

Posty has been spending time in Nashville, and in November, in a Twitch livestream, the multi-genre talented star confirmed that a country record was in the works.

“Country record is coming. I keep singing a song that we made while I was in Nashville, and it's so sick, but it's not out," Post said while playing a video game.

This won't be Post's first dabble in the country music genre. Malone performed on the CMA Awards show with Morgan Wallen and Hardy by his side. The trio performed a medley of Joe Diffie's hits, including "John Deer Green" and "Pickup Man," to remember Diffie, who died in 2020.

Pictures have also been spotted on social media of Malone in the studio with Ernest, Morgan Wallen and Brad Paisley.  All indications point toward Malone expanding his ever-growing music library to include a country album.

With multiple pop artists trying their hands at country, it serves as a testament to the genre's enduring relevance and universal appeal.
