ESPN "College GameDay" analyst Kirk Herbstreit is in iconic College Station on Saturday to call the massive rivalry game between the No. 3 Texas Longhorns and the No. 20 Texas A&M Aggies, alongside his play-by-play partner Chris Fowler.

Ahead of the highly anticipated matchup, Herbstreit took some time to bring his dog, Peter, onto Kyle Field to catch up with old friends. A pregame photo of Herbstreit with actor and avid Texas Longhorns fan Matthew McConaughey quickly captured attention after Herbstreit posted it on his social media platforms.

The caption read, "Pregame with Peter and friends," and in the first photo of the post, you can see McConaughey speaking to Herbstreit, who listens intently. The moment quickly went viral as fans reacted to the wholesome pregame interaction.

Check it out:

"Matthew McConaughey always looks like he’s over spoke his welcome." One fan commented

"Matthew pissed about that sign trashing his tuna salad?" Another fan jokingly said.

"One more fan made a Matthew McConaughey movie reference by saying, "Peter sandwich - all right all right all right."

Matthew McConaughey, a longtime fan of the Texas Longhorns, is known for being a fixture at nearly every home game, but he made the quick trip to College Station on Saturday for the biggest game of the year. The No. 3 Texas Longhorns are facing off against their in-state rivals, the No. 20 Texas A&M Aggies, in a high-stakes rivalry matchup.

The winner of this showdown will earn a spot in the SEC Championship Game next week against the No. 7 Georgia Bulldogs. While Texas has more leeway in terms of playoff positioning, they will be aiming to stay in the top five and potentially secure a first-round bye.

For Texas A&M, however, the situation is more dire. After suffering an upset loss to Auburn in Week 13, their season now rests on the outcome of this rivalry game.
