Prime Video releases trailer for 'Fallout' season two

Amazon Prime Video didn’t make us wait long. Just days after the first images  of 'Fallout' season two surfaced, the teaser trailer has already arrived:

'Fallout' is Amazon Prime’s post-apocalyptic dramedy based on the iconic video game franchise of the same name. Set in a retrofuturist world devastated by nuclear war, the series blends dark humor, action, and social satire as it follows survivors navigating a society rebuilt amid chaos. The story centers on Lucy, played by Ella Purnell, a resourceful young woman, and The Ghoul, portrayed by Emmy nominee Walton Goggins, a mysterious and morally ambiguous companion. Together, they traverse the wasteland, encounter bizarre factions, and uncover secrets that threaten both the remnants of civilization and their own survival.

After watching the trailer it's clear the end of the world ain’t over yet. The trailer doesn’t hold back on the violence, which makes sense given the post-apocalyptic retrofuturist setting. What it lacks, however, is the humor that made the first season so darkly comedic — to its benefit. Considering that, and the tone of the video game franchise Fallout is based on, the show will likely deliver more laughs.

We see some Vegas in the mix, both Las and New, along with Justin Theroux appearing as a villain of some sort. Jon Daly also makes a brief cameo, which is a fun touch. Mostly, though, season two appears poised to focus heavily on Lucy and The Ghoul, which sparks plenty of intrigue.

Though we’ll have to wait until Dec. 17 for season two of 'Fallout,' this teaser is enough to say: okie dokie.
