'Regretting You' trailer: Love lifts Allison Williams, Mckenna Grace, Dave Franco, and Mason Thames up

Paramount Pictures just dropped the official trailer for the newest Colleen Hoover adaptation, Regretting You. The film stars Allison Williams, Mckenna Grace, Dave Franco, Mason Thames, Scott Eastwood, and Willa Fitzgerald.

Based on the bestselling book, REGRETTING YOU introduces audiences to Morgan Grant and her daughter Clara as they explore what’s left behind after a devastating accident reveals a shocking betrayal and forces them to confront family secrets, redefine love, and rediscover each other. REGRETTING YOU is a story of growth, resilience, and self-discovery in the aftermath of tragedy.

The Fault in Our Stars' Josh Boone directs with the script written by Susan McMartin. "For Regretting You, in the Colleen Hoover-verse, if you will, I was excited to try something new for me," Franco told Collider. "I've never done a straight drama that's kind of this romantic thing, too. It's scary to put yourself out on a limb and try something new, but I think that's also the reason to do it."

Williams instantly "loved" and "identified with" Morgan, who she brings to life on the big screen. "Josh's track record with book adaptations is such that people can feel pretty confident that this is in good hands," the actress, who also executive produces, told EW. "This is in the hands of someone who really understands what it means to, I think, successfully adapt a book that's beloved with characters that feel really specific and that people felt really, really connected to."

Producers include Brunson Green, Anna Todd, Flavia Viotti, and Robert Kulzer, while Oliver Berben, Hoover, Grace, Franco, Jon D. Wagner, Emily Magee, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro, Andrew Lary, Michael Rothstein, Samuel Hall, and Warren Goz executive produce.

Green shared that they've "sprinkled in a lot more humor in this [adaptation]," adding, "I think it's a lot more accessible to wider audiences than just your typical Hoover-verse."

However, Viotti assures fans, "I think we try to keep as close to the book as possible. We know Colleen Hoover has a strong fan base, and we don't want to disappoint them. But I don’t think fans will be disappointed."

Regretting You will be released in theatres on October 24.
