Robert Pattinson’s THE BATMAN – PART II Script Was Kept in a ‘Locked Pouch’
Here’s Why THE BATMAN Shouldn’t Become Part of the DCU_1 Warner Bros.

It’s been years in the making, but Matt Reeves’ The Batman – Part II is finally ready to go into production early in 2026. Although not part of James Gunn’s DCU, it is a DC Studios production and will premiere the same year as Man of Tomorrow. Yes, Superman and Batman will release solo movies in the same year for the first time ever. Reeves recently confirmed that the script for the sequel is finally done, and via Slashfilm, he revealed that not only has Robert Pattinson read the script already, but they’ve taken some wild measures to protect its secrets. Here’s what he had to say:

We put [the script] into a secret pouch that literally has a lock on it with a code. [Pattinson] was in New York at the time, and everything is high security. We really trust Rob, because he’s the best.

Well, we certainly hope that the director trusts his lead star with the script to his movie! Still, with highly anticipated films, especially based on big IP, extreme measures often take place to protect the scripts. One tactic uses scripts printed on paper that are unscannable by any device. And sometimes actors have to read them with a security detail with them. It’s all Mission: Impossible type stuff. Yet instead of protecting world-ending secrets, it’s protecting the names of characters and events in a comic book movie.

But we totally understand why. Scoopers are rabid to find out who the villains are for the sequel, along with other characters. The funniest thing is, for as intense as studios get in protecting scripts, the major details always leak weeks, if not months, before the movie hits theaters. We’ll know major parts of The Batman – Part II way before the movie lands in cinemas. No matter what extreme measures they take with the script. Currently, The Batman – Part II has a release date of October 7, 2027.
