20 high-profile celebrities who made cameos on reality TV

Jamie Lee Curtis appeared on an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills to promote her organization that supports the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Curtis and Housewife Kyle Richards go way back (back to their Halloween days), but it was Dorit Kemsley who was the most wowed by Curtis during her appearance. 

During his marriage to Kim Kardashian, Kanye West made multiple appearances on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. But before the two were ever dating, West appeared in an episode of the show while Kardashian was visiting New York City. 

Kanye West also appeared on an episode of American Idol. He surprised the judges by “auditioning,” rapping his hit “Gold Digger” for his unsuspecting musical peers. 

Dr. Drew is typically the one inviting celebrities for cameos on his shows, but he’s repaid the favor before. The medical doctor made a cameo appearance on an episode of Jersey Shore Family Vacation to help stars Angelina Pivernack and Jenni Farley make amends.  

Lance Bass’ former assistant was a contestant on The Circle. Bass’ cameo on the series came in the form of a video message wishing his former employee luck. 

Billy Eichner once appeared on an episode of The Bachelor while Colton Underwood was leading the show. Eichner made a joke that Underwood was the first gay Bachelor, which was quite prescient as Underwood later came out as gay. 

Another star from a ‘90s band made an appearance on The Circle: Spice Girl Mel B. Mel actually competed on the show for a few days of the second season, making the show an absolute riot for anyone who’s a fan of her work. 

Mel B wasn’t the only Spice Girl to appear on The Circle. Baby Spice competed, too, right alongside her former bandmate. 

Celebrities serving as guest judges on RuPaul’s Drag Race is part of the fabric of the show. But one appearance sent contestants and fans of the shows into a tailspin: Lady Gaga. Her cameo was a major moment in the show’s history. 

Bob Dylan doesn’t just bop around the world looking for more opportunities to promote his work. He doesn’t need to, and he’s kept an unbelievably low profile for decades. Again, many celebrities have appeared on The Real Housewives over the course of the franchise, especially on Beverly Hills. But one of the best appearances came from Boy George as the singer was living with Dorit Kemsley and her ex-husband for a while. 

Many celebrities have appeared on Catfish, but one sticks out. Machine Gun Kelly appeared on an episode while co-host Kamie Crawford was away, and the catfish situation that they dealt with that episode was particularly shocking. 

Kevin Jonas had his own reality TV show once upon a time, but he also made a cameo appearance on The Real Housewives of New Jersey when his construction company was building Housewife Kathy Wakile’s home. The singer ran a construction company while his brotherly band was on an indefinite hiatus. 

Lots of celebrities are fans of The Real Housewives, including Nicki Minaj. The rapper is such a big fan, she appeared on the season six Real Housewives of Potomac reunion and took over hosting duties for a bit, much to the delight of fans and ‘wives.  

Nicki Minaj has made it somewhat of a habit to appear as a guest on reality TV shows. She also appeared as a guest judge on two episodes of America’s Next Top Model. 

There have been plenty of minor celebrities to make appearances on The Bachelor franchise, but a few that have popped up have been major, like David Spade. The hilarious actor made a cameo on one season of Bachelor in Paradise. 

Celebrity cameos on reality TV shows were even more exciting in the 2000s because they were so unexpected. 50 Cent made a cameo appearance on an episode of The Flavor of Love back in the day. 

Celebrities who use their status to complete bizarre and random side quests are the best celebrities. Post Malone appeared on an episode of Ghost Adventures because he was a fan of the show, and he helped investigate The Slaughter House in Arizona. 

Elton John once appeared on an episode of The Osbournes . He was even included in the episode’s description because he gifted Ozzy Osbourne a necklace that Ozzy wasn’t too fond of. 

Donald Trump is better known for his cameo in Home Alone 2, but about a decade after that, he appeared on an episode of The Girls Next Door. Trump had a long history with Playboy prior to becoming president, even appearing on the cover of the magazine in the ‘90s.
