Roku Quietly Adds Four New Free Channels

So far in 2026, Roku has added more than 80 free channels to its free viewing lineup. Each month, the company tacks on new offerings, and a new report says four more channels have been activated for August.

According to Cord Cutters News, users can now access these free options through The Roku Channel, Roku's ad-supported streaming service available in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom.

What are the four channels Roku just added?

• 841 MAD TV
• 842 Retro Black Laughs
• 828 Whose Line Is It Anyway?

The first channel is a 24-hour rotation of AI-generated content, while MAD TV resurrects the popular sketch comedy series which ran on FOX from 1995-2009.

Retro Black Laughs is centered on honoring Black comedy from the past, through old sitcoms, stand-up performances and more. Finally, Whose Line Is It Anyway? will feature a continuous loop of the improv comedy series.

"Live linear channels have become a key part of the platform’s appeal, offering the familiar experience of flipping through numbered stations while remaining fully free," writes Cord Cutters News' Luke Bouma. "Fairground AI introduces a forward-looking element by centering artificial intelligence as both the creative tool and the subject matter. The comedy-focused channels strengthen the entertainment slate with recognizable brands that already enjoy strong recognition among audiences. Together they illustrate how The Roku Channel balances nostalgia, established franchises, and experimental formats within a single free service."

Are more additions coming this month?

It seems very possible. Roku frequently adds double-digit channels monthly, including 22 fresh offerings in April alone.
