Sam Claflin says he loved his 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' co-star Lynn Cohen "with all my heart"

Sam Claflin is reflecting on his beloved role of Finnick Odair, including his time working on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire with the late Lynn Cohen, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 86.

"I loved her with all my heart. That little laugh, we used to be sprinting through the jungles of Hawaii, and I would really be intensely sprinting, carrying her, and she would just be laughing in my ear," the actor shared with Hits Radio, noting how director Francis Lawrence had to remind her that Mags was actually a mute but her response was that she was just having so much fun. "I'd carry that woman anywhere, honestly. She was such a sweet lady and such a joy to be around."

When asked which of his characters he would like to revisit in the form of a series, he named Finnick and told Magic Radio, "I feel like there was so many sort of layers to him that are told through the story, like him sort of talking about his time at the Capitol. I mean, there's a prequel in there, Suzanne Collins. But his time in the Capitol, his time winning the Quarter Quell. I was obviously too old to play the 14-year-old version of him when he won the Quarter Quell, but I think there's definitely a world to be explored and being handed around the Capitol in order to get secrets. I think it's a really interesting subject."

While Mags was killed in Catching Fire, Claflin returned for both parts of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. However, Finnick meets a devastating and tragic fate in the final film, which means the only way he could return would be with a prequel storyline.
