'Scream 7' trailer reveals its main location and sets the Macher house on fire

Hello, Sidney. Those infamous words are a cornerstone of the long-running Scream franchise, which is somehow turning 30 in 2026. And, to celebrate, we have the return of Neve Campbell as the beloved final girl Sidney Prescott in yet another Scream film. There have been so many questions about where this film would take place, how Sidney’s life is going, and more. Well, the trailer for Scream 7 is finally here and we do get some answers along with one vengeful Ghostface who claims to be from Woodsboro.

It appears that at least two kills will take place at Stu Macher’s house, which is now an Airbnb much like the house is in real life. Two people die at the hands of Ghostface before this person turns their sights on Sidney. She’s living in a cute little town called Pine Grove when she gets a call from Ghostface. This killer says the town “reminds me of where we grew up,” which suggests that the killer could be from Woodsboro and know Sidney personally.

From that point forward, Sidney is fighting to protect her daughter Tatum and find out who the killer is. The Scream 7 trailer does give us a brief glimpse of Gale Weathers, who unites with Sidney once again. And we also see the Meeks twins, although it’s not totally clear how they will fit into the picture. It is very plausible that they are back in Woodsboro, where they have an encounter with Ghostface that ends in tragedy. Sidney’s daughter Tatum has to step up and become a fighter, just like her mom.

The end of the clip is perhaps the most shocking part, as it appears that Ghostface has burned the Macher house to the ground. We also hear Stu’s voice saying “this is gonna be fun.” Now, do I believe Stu is under the costume? No. I think someone will likely resurrect his voice/persona because of their obsession with him for the anniversary of the original Woodsboro murders. I am also not totally convinced that the killer is from Woodsboro either, unless it is someone like Stu Macher’s sister Leslie.
