It's official: Selena Gomez will be back to guest star as Alex Russo in the second season of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. On her Instagram Stories, she wrote how it "just feels right," also posting a picture with her Wizards of Waverly Place co-star David Henrie and saying, "We want to do this forever... luv you brudder."
In season two of “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” Billie grapples with the fact that being part of the Russo family might be more complicated than she thought —especially now that she's not the only wizard in the house. Thanks to Roman and Milo’s new magical powers, Justin is now tasked with training three young wizards for the Family Wizard Competition. As the stakes rise inside and outside the family, a mysterious new threat emerges—one that could unravel the Russos forever.
The continuation of Wizards of Waverly Place can be watched on both Disney+ and Disney Channel. It stars Henrie as Justin Russo, Janice LeAnn Brown as Billie, Alkaio Thiele as Roman Russo, Max Matenko as Milo Russo, Taylor Cora as Winter, and Mimi Gianopulos as Giada Russo.
Gomez and Henrie both serve as executive producers alongside Gary Marsh, Jonas Agin, and writers Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas. Todd Greenwald created Wizards of Waverly Place.
While celebrating the season 1 premiere, the actress had expressed, "Bringing back my childhood has been such a beautiful gift." For the finale, she concluded that "NOTHING will ever beat making little kids laugh," continuing to thank the series for "making the little girl in me so happy!!"
The first season of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, as well as all episodes of Wizards of Waverly Place, are now streaming on Disney+. Season two will premiere this fall.
