Taylor Swift has a very normal and chill fan base. There is certainly not a subsection of them that has built a cult of personality around the musical superstar. You know, doing stuff like referring to themselves as a collective under the banner of Swift's name or attacking who they perceive as their hero's enemies. Stuff like review bombing a football player's mother's restaurant, for example. They certainly don't see Swift's presence in all sorts of things, finding patterns that aren't there and what have you.
On an unrelated note, a bunch of Taylor Swift fans were certain she was involved on a song from Lady Gaga's new album. Spoiler alert: She's not.
Gaga's Nine Inch Nails-indebted album "Mayhem" was released Friday, and social media was flooded with speculations from Swift fans that she was involved in the album. Specifically, the rumors swirled around the song "How Bad Do U Want Me." The postings are abundant, and you can feel free to seek them out. Your free time is your own. Some speculated that Swift secretly wrote the song, while others believed she even contributed backing vocals. Both are the same amount of accurate: Zero.
Both Page Six and the Rolling Stone have done the due diligence and confirmed Swift had no part in the crafting of "How Bad U Want Me" or any song on "Mayhem." As far as internet-generated phenomena stemming from Swift fans, this one is entirely innocuous. Swift and Gaga are on good terms with one another, so Gaga is in the good graces of the Swift lovers who believed their idol played a role in "Mayhem." It was but a brief flitting of a rumor, though a robust one.
