Sylvester Stallone's hit show "Tulsa King" announces release date for season three

"Tulsa King," the show that brought Sylvester Stallone to television and expanded the ever sizeable Taylor Sheridan empire over at Paramount, has turned into a hit. Sheridan created the show, but has handed the showrunning baton to Dave Erickson for season three. Erickson previously ran "Fear the Walking Dead" for a few seasons and is joining from another Sheridan project "Mayor of Kingstown."

Paramount+ has shared a "first look" at season three.

In addition to divvying out the first look photos, it was announced season three of "Tulsa King" will premiere on September 21. This is not an everything-at-once show, as it released episodes on Paramount+ on a weekly basis. The third season's official description is as follows:

As Dwight’s (Sylvester Stallone) empire expands, so do his enemies – and the risks to his crew. Now, he faces his most dangerous adversaries in Tulsa yet: the Dunmires, a powerful old-money family that doesn’t play by old-world rules, forcing Dwight to fight for everything he’s built and protect his family.

You may have noticed Samuel L. Jackson in some of the photos. He's not so much joining the show as getting a backdoor pilot experience. Jackson is guesting on a few episodes to set up "NOLA King," which will see him as the lead character in his own show, set in the Big Easy.

So if you're into this type of TV, it's time to circle September 21 on your calendar. In the meantime, you can go back to watch the "Rocky" movies or what have you.
