The incredibly talented Zendaya was the winner of the 2014 Candie's Choice Style Icon surfboard, and she used her platform to spread a message of self-acceptance and positivity, telling the young audience to lean into who they are because they'll only be that age once. Powerful stuff.

No one has more surfboards than One Direction. The British boy band has won a whopping 28 times at the Teen Choice Awards. Their most memorable year was 2013, when they not only won 10 times, but also performed for the last time at the TCAs before breaking up three years later.

The thing you have to understand about the Ultimate Choice Award is that it's special. It's reserved for only those individuals or groups who have really done the most in their careers. Taylor Swift was absolutely deserving of that special surfboard when she got it in 2011. What's wild to think about it is that even though she was a huge star then, Swift hadn't even reached the peak of her career.

Demi Lovato has won 14 Teen Choice Awards throughout her career. Perhaps the most impactful was the 2011 Acuvue Inspire Award, which she in recognition of her speaking out about the importance of mental health.
Sadly, the battles with depression and addiction continue for Lovato, as she recently spent time in rehab for an overdose. But she's a fighter, telling fans, "I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet" via Instagram, ending with, "I will keep fighting."

The "Harry Potter" film franchise has been a staple for an entire generation of teenagers since the first movie ("Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone") came out in 2004. That's why the 2011 Teen Choice Awards were a bittersweet affair. "Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, Part 2," the final installment in the saga, took home the Choice Summer Movie Award that year, and the cast took it as an opportunity to thank their fans. The 2017 show, according to some fans, was sort of a dud once it was announced by host Jake Paul that Miley Cyrus canceled last-minute despite being honored with the Ultimate Choice Award, one of the biggest honors of the Teen Choice Awards. Miley apologized to her fans via Instagram saying she'd had created an "unrealistic" schedule... and she had a new single dropping in a couple of days.
Miley might not have been there, but hey, in what was probably some solid foreshadowing for his next year, viewers did get to see Jake Paul fall while dancing.
