The final season of The Boys has officially wrapped production. Executive producer and showrunner Eric Kripke took to social media to mark the occasion and share his gratitude.
"This is the last time I'll ever be on this set. It'll be torn down soon. It's bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude. We have the best cast, the best crew, the most fun story to write, and something that is impossible to predict: the right timing," he wrote. "You wait your whole career to have maybe two of those things, if you're lucky. We got all of them. To #TheBoys family: thank you, I love you all. To the fans: thanks for watching, can't wait for you to see the grand finale. That's a wrap."
"Love you dude. Thank you for literally everything," Jack Quaid commented while Laz Alonso added, "Couldn’t have been on this journey with anyone else. What a ride Krip! I can finally say I experienced lightning in a bottle!"
"I’m not crying. I’m not crying. I’m not crying," Nathan Mitchell said, Erin Moriarty also expressing, "Love you. Thank you. x 1000."
"Epic, wild ride. Ever grateful," Susan Heyward concluded with Karen Fukuhara saying, "So surreal!!"
The series is based on The New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, who serve as executive producers alongside Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Phil Sgriccia, Michaela Starr, Paul Grellong, David Reed, Meredith Glynn, Judalina Neira, Ken F. Levin, and Jason Netter.
The Boys is a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes—who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods—abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. Intent on stopping the corrupt superheroes, The Boys, a group of vigilantes, continue their heroic quest to expose the truth about The Seven and Vought—the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets. It’s the seemingly powerless against the super powerful.
"This show has done everything for me. I love it. I love the people. I’m going to miss everyone so much, and it’s going to be weird [without it]," Quaid told The Hollywood Reporter. "But I’m really proud of what we’ve accomplished this season. I think it’s a great finale, which is a hard thing to do in TV. I’m happy that [creator] Eric Kripke got to make the ending he intended, and he did a great job. So I’m excited for you guys to see it."
Additionally, the cast includes Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, and Tomer Capone.
