You've just graduated college. You've got your degree, and hopefully not too much debt, and it's time to celebrate. Generally speaking, famous people aren't going to randomly pop up at your graduation celebration, but for some Fordham grads recently, they got an appearance from The Weeknd and Jimmy Fallon.
Now, the Fallon of it all probably tipped you off that this was done for "The Tonight Show." It wasn't just too dudes hanging and popping into a graduation party. Fordham is in New York City, so it was also easy to pop by. Still, the graduates were unaware of what was to come, and they got a surprise performance from The Weeknd.
The episode of "The Tonight Show" was actually pretty much all The Weeknd, all the time. He also performed songs from his most-recent album "Hurry Up Tomorrow" and even did the panel and got interviewed by Fallon. That part we haven't seen. We assume there's a bunch of giggling and questions that seem obsequious even for a late night talk show interview? Anyway, here's The Weeknd's performance.
Notably, Abel Tesfaye has indicated "Hurry Up Tomorrow" is his last album under his The Weeknd moniker. Who knows if that will lead to a shift in style, or just branding, but technically it's the end of an era. Well, after he finishes his massive tour coming up.
