Toby Huss to take over the role of Dale on "King of the Hill"

When we wrote up the release date the 14th season of "King of the Hill" on Hulu, and expressed our intrigue and surprise at the fact the characters have fully been aged up, we did also note that Johnny Hardwick, the longtime voice of Dale Gribble, had passed away in 2023. There's now more known about the future of Dale Gribble, including who will be voicing him. Fortunately, Mike Judge and company didn't need to look far to find their new Dale.

Evidently, Hardwick was able to do voiceover work for six of the 10 episodes of the 14th season of the show. Of course, that leaves four episodes, not to mention any future seasons of "King of the Hill." Stepping into the shoes of Dale is Toby Huss. Huss has been lending his voice to Hank's father Cotton and the Hills' neighbor Kahn since the beginning of the show's run. He's also, apparently, an author, photographer, and artist.

Huss is an unsurprising, and also smart, choice to replace Hardwick. First of all, he was already in the cast, so all he had to do was add one more voice to his total. He's also a talented mimic on top of that, and actually first started finding professional success parodying Frank Sinatra.

And, of course, for all the Millennials in the audience, we will note that Huss was also...

Artie, the Strongest Man in the World and Dale Gribble. Get you a man who can do both.
