If Vin Diesel doesn’t do anything else, he’s gonna talk and give us information that may or may not be true. The Fast & Furious franchise star loves to spill some tea and often does it unprovoked on his social media pages. This time, Vin Diesel popped up at FuelFest in California to drop some information about the supposedly final film in the Fast & Furious franchise, currently called Fast X: Part II, revealing that it will release in April 2027 and that Dom will reunite with Brian.
Yes, you read that second part correctly. Apparently, the two friends who started it all are reuniting, even though Paul Walker died in a car crash back in 2013. His character Brian is still alive in the franchise, but the storylines have him offscreen focusing on raising his children with Mia.
Diesel said the film would take place in Los Angeles and go back to the basics of street racing, which is where the franchise began. I guess we won’t go into space again or have aliens come to Earth to fight against family. That’s one battle the aliens simply cannot win.
According to Deadline, there’s no major films on the April 2027 release calendar, so it remains to be seen if Vin Diesel is right about the Fast & Furious sequel or not. He previously said it was coming by March 2026 soooo, yeah.
Including Brian in the film heavily would be a choice… one that involves using AI and other trickery. And doing that with a deceased actor who cannot speak up about how they wish their image to be used is not cool. But we will see if Brian really does return to the Fast & Furious franchise or not. Vin Diesel likes to say things and we just go along for the (quarter mile) ride.
