Warner Bros. made a big deal out of the "final trailer" for its upcoming "If this doesn't work, we're screwed" superhero movie. That would be "Superman," of course. Now, Disney is doing the same thing with its equivalent "Please, just work" superhero film. Behold, one month before the movie's release, the final trailer for "The Fantastic Four: First Steps."
This trailer offers up enough that is new to be notable, though it doesn't make "The First Steps" seem any different as a film. We get a bit more of Galactus and Silver Surfer (a character everybody is being very chill about), but the dynamic of the titular four is the most explored in this trailer. They are trying to sell you on the Fantastic Four, though they aren't focusing as much on Pedro Pascal as one might expect.
The film does have an interesting aesthetic, but that was already clear. It doesn't feel like "First Steps" is getting the hard sell here, and we don't think anybody is going to be sold on the film based on this trailer if they weren't already. To that end, the final "Superman" trailer was more successful.
"The Fantastic Four: First Steps" hits theaters on July 25.
