‘Wednesday’: Gwendoline Christie’s Weems Returns as Wednesday’s Spirit Guide in Part 2 Trailer (Video)
Bernard Walsh / Netflix

Part 2 of Wednesday Season 2 is shaking things up with the return of fan-favorite former Principal Weems (Gwendoline Christie), who is back to help the titular pupil as her new spirit guide.

As fans will recall, Weems was Nevermore Academy’s principal before Steve Buscemi stepped in as Principal Dort, but she fell victim to Miss Thornhill (Christina Ricci) in Season 1. Now, she’s making a comeback from beyond he grave and we couldn’t be more excited. In the newly released trailer for Part 2, Weems reunites with Wednesday in the hospital.

“Rise and shine, sleepy head,” Weems greets her former student. When Wednesday starts questioning what’s happening, Weems reveals, “This isn’t hell, Ms. Addams, but I understand the confusion.”

“If I’m not dead, then why are you here?” Wednesday asks.

“Because I am your new spirit guide. Surprise!” Weems announces.

As fans will recall, Wednesday’s former spirit guide, Goody Addams, sacrificed herself in Season 1, leaving Wednesday to use her psychic powers without guidance in Season 2, leading to some close calls. And after a fencing match with mother Mortricia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), Wednesday lost, meaning she would have to give up Goody’s book, which offered tips and tricks on rituals, magic, and more.

With the arrival of Weems, that might be a moot argument. If the trailer is any indication, Wednesday’s going to need all the help she can get when it comes to her and Enid’s (Emma Myers) safety. Tyler (Hunter Doohan), a.k.a. the Hyde, is still on the loose and after Wednesday and Enid, but will he be stopped? Only time will tell, but a batch of newly-released photos also hints at Wednesday’s potential confrontation with Tyler as she stands toe to toe with the Hyde.

Add in the familial drama going on with Wednesday, her mother, and grandmother, and you have some can’t-miss TV ahead. Check out the trailer below.
