Why Isn’t ‘Celebrity Jeopardy!’ on Tonight?
Disney/Eric McCandless

We’ll take a week off for Celebrity Jeopardy! please. The Jeopardy! spinoff show is not airing on Friday, April 3, after three weeks of competition.

So far, three celebrities have won the Quarterfinals and made it through to the Semifinals — Katie Nolan, Steven Weber, and Sean Gunn. Those celebrities, along with three other Quarterfinal winners, will face off against the previous seasons’ winner — Ike Barinholtz, Lisa Ann Walter, and W. Kamau Bell.

Fans won’t find out who the fourth semifinalists will be until April 10. The game show is not airing on April 3.

Although a specific reason wasn’t given for why a new episode is not on tonight, fans are speculating it is because of the Easter holiday. “Is my on-screen guide mistaken, or are they airing a repeat of the Rachel Dratch episode tonight? Seems unnecessary,” a Reddit user asked. Dratch played on the premiere episode.

“Yes, it’s a repeat. Likely because it’s Good Friday,” a fan responded.

“TV shows often air reruns on holiday weekends. (SNL is new this weekend, though),” another wrote.

The Jeopardy! official Instagram page shared a calendar of the rundown of Celebrity Jeopardy! episodes for April.

The spinoff show is taking a break this week and will return for Quarterfinal games number four and five on April 10 and April 17.

There will not be another episode on April 24. The reason for that is unknown.

That covers 15 of the 18 all-star contestants competing. So, one more quarterfinals episode will have to take place in May before the three Semi-finals and Final game. The calendar for May has not yet been released.

The remaining contestants are Margaret ChoMina Kimes, Patton OswaltAndy RichterMo RoccaRay Romano, Tim Simons, Mira Sorvino, and Robin Thede. According to the Celebrity Jeopardy! press site, Mina Kimes, Andy Richter, and Tim Simons will compete against each other on April 10.

Is the Easter holiday affecting the syndicated version of Jeopardy!? No. Jeopardy! does not typically take a night off unless it is preempted for another program, or when it takes a break during the summer. The game show even airs on Christmas.
