Will Charisma Carpenter be in the "Buffy" reboot?

Charisma Carpenter played Cordelia Chase on the TV series 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer.' The show is being rebooted, with Sarah Michelle Gellar returning as Buffy to pass the torch to a new generation. Cordelia, a character who appeared on both 'Buffy' and its spinoff 'Angel,' is deeply tied to the franchise. Carpenter previously said she was hopeful about appearing in the reboot.

Carpenter also recently announced a new project: a rewatch podcast for one of her popular shows. The podcast, titled 'The B---- is Back,' sparked speculation among some fans who thought the name was a hint she would appear in the 'Buffy' reboot.

To clear the air, Carpenter turned to TikTok, addressing the rumors directly on the platform.

Hey, I get asked this a lot: "Are you doing the reboot?" And I thought I would address it. I am not in the reboot. I am not in the pilot. I don’t even know if the show has been picked up to go to series. I assume it will be.

Carpenter noted it remains to be seen whether the 'Buffy' reboot will move forward after the pilot. While it would be surprising for the show to be shelved, she is making no assumptions.

It also comes as little surprise that Carpenter is not involved with the reboot and that Cordelia will not be returning. For now, Gellar appears to be the only original cast member set to return, though speculation suggests her character may not survive beyond the pilot.

Ultimately, viewers and Carpenter alike will learn the fate of the reboot together.
