The Alysa Liu hype train just keeps on going. It has been well over a month since the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics ended, but the United States figure skating star continues to reap the benefits of her success in the Games.

Liu left Italy as a two-time Olympic gold medalist. She helped lead Team USA to victory in the team event. This was followed by her historic rise in the individual competition, where she won a second gold medal following majestic performances in the short program and free skate.

Liu became the first female American ice skater to win an individual gold in the Winter Games since 2002.

Liu has been extremely busy since the Olympics. So much so that she had to withdraw from the World Figure Skating Championships in March. Liu opted to focus on her commitments outside the sport rather than defend her title at the Worlds.

Liu received some more exciting news on Tuesday. This is after Icelandic singer-songwriter Laufey teased an upcoming collaboration with the figure skating superstar.

“welcome to the party @alysaxliu ”

Liu quickly shared the post via an Instagram story along with a three-word reaction.

“Madwoman let’s gooo,” she captioned her post.

The full details of Liu’s upcoming collaboration with Laufey have yet to be revealed. However, these two have a special connection, stemming from Liu’s decision to use Laufey’s song “Promise” as the soundtrack for her memorable short program routine in the Olympics.

Right now, Liu is in Japan for the Stars on Ice Tour alongside some of the top figure skaters in the world. They just completed the Osaka leg, and preparations for the Tokyo leg, which starts on Friday, are in full swing.
