After a memorable run in the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics , United States figure skater Amber Glenn entered the World Figure Skating Championships with high hopes.
Glenn played a pivotal part in Team USA’s gold medal finish in the team event at the Winter Games. She then turned in a strong performance in the women’s individual free skate to finish a very respectable fifth.
Glenn was back on the ice just one month after the Games. She headed to Prague for the highly anticipated World Championships with the objective of finishing on the podium for the first time in her decorated career.
Glenn had an inspired routine in the short program on Wednesday. She scored a 72.65 to finish third behind the Japanese duo of Kaori Sakamoto (79.31) and Mone Chiba (78.45).
Unfortunately, Glenn was not able to maintain her momentum in the free skate on Friday. She ranked ninth with a score of 130.47. This saw the 26-year-old drop to sixth overall with a final score of 203.12.
Amid the unfortunate news, Glenn took to social media to share a personal update for her fans. The three-time U.S. national champion admitted that she’s exhausted, but Glenn also revealed that she remains proud of what she's achieved this season.
“Thank you everyone for the love and support I'm okay! If anything I'm mentally, emotionally, physically exhausted after a season of extreme highs and lows.
“I did what I set out to do 6 years ago. Land a Triple axel and go to the Olympics and nothing will take that away from me,” she posted on X.
