Max Verstappen is arguably at the peak of his career in Formula 1, as the Dutchman just broke his record in 2023 for most races won in a single season along with countless others. Verstappen is the reigning triple champion, poised to make three titles four in 2024.

Verstappen never really set out any specific goals for his conquest of the pinnacle of motorsport, but claims his main checkpoints have already been ticked. The 26-year-old said that his goals in F1 were to win a championship, be on the podium, and achieve a pole position all of which have been completed.

When I won my first title, I said, everything that comes next is a bonus because, realistically, in F1, I’ve achieved everything that I wanted to achieve. Being on the podium, having a pole position, winning a championship. These kinds of things were my dream to achieve in Formula One. From now on, I’m just, yeah, trying to stay on top. Max Verstappen said in an interview with The Times

Verstappen’s dominance has been unparalleled statistically, but lacks one record that he will strive for in the upcoming season. Michael Schumacher’s 2002 record of a podium every race remains unmatched, and Verstappen will aim to complete the job in 2024.

Max Verstappen reveals hilarious driver’s license test story

Max Verstappen joined the Formula 1 grid back in 2015, setting the record for the youngest ever driver to compete in the fastest cars in the world at just 17. However, the racing driver who regularly sped away at 300km/h did not get his license until he reached the eligible age a year later.

Verstappen shared a hilarious story from the driver’s license test that he had to embark on. Starting off with going left in contrast to the examiner’s orders, Verstappen went on to drive past pedestrians at a crossing, reasoning that they had not reached the crossing yet which meant he did not have to stop.

The examiner told me to go right and I went left. Then I didn’t give way [to pedestrians at a crossing]. He was not very happy. I argued with him because I thought they were not actually at the crossing. So I was, like, 'But they’re not there yet, so why should I stop? Max Verstappen said in an interview with The Times

Verstappen’s age obstructing his driving escapades did not end when he got his license, however. The Dutchman recently had to settle for a slower car while on vacation as the dealership did not issue him the one he wanted due to his age.
