The 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix weekend will remain fresh in fan’s memories for a long time. Max Verstappen won the race despite starting from P17 and following the incredible applause he has got from all over the world, second-place finisher Esteban Ocon has also wholeheartedly showered praise on the Dutchman.
During the chaotic 71-lap race at the Interlagos circuit, there was a time when Esteban Ocon was leading the race ahead of Max Verstappen. However, the former was ultimately overtaken by the reigning world champion.
Ocon feels Verstappen’s ‘no bulls---’ approach is what makes him incredibly strong as an F1 driver.
Everyone thinks we hate each other, but that’s not the case. I like that he races really hard, it’s very straight forward. It’s just who crosses the finish line first. With Max, there is no bulls---. I think it’s a bit of a shame that I haven’t been able to race against him yet in my F1 career. We’re always in a different league, which hopefully will change. I hope we can race each other at the front in the future.

Ocon via his comments, has one hand, applauded the reigning world champion, and on the other, has hoped to fight with Verstappen at the front. The Alpine driver will join the Kannapolis-based Haas F1 team from 2025 onwards on a 2+1 deal.
While Esteban Ocon has set his targets on regularly fighting against Max Verstappen in the coming years, Red Bull boss Christian Horner is in awe of the latter’s Interlagos exploits. It is no easy feat to end up in P1 after starting from the extreme south end of the grid.
Moreover, that too under extremely tricky wet weather conditions.
Of course everything is a package but I don’t think there was a significant advantage in terms of horsepower or anything like that today. All the overtaking Max did was on the brakes, not on a straight line.

Verstappen was on song during last week’s race at the Interlagos racing circuit. The Grand Prix itself saw several cars going into the barriers under the tricky conditions but the 27-year-old was able to hold his own.
Moreover, he was able to make breathtaking overtakes that left his fellow drivers completely stumped. After the recent event, Verstappen has extended his lead over Lando Norris in the driver’s championship to 62 points. Keeping this in view, the former has already got one of his hands on the coveted 2024 title.
