Timo Glock , the former Toyota and Marussia F1 driver has expressed his thoughts on Mick Schumacher making a mid-season F1 return. With the future of Williams driver Logan Sargeant in the current season being unstable, such a situation may be possible in the coming weeks.

There are widespread speculations of Williams willing to put Kimi Antonelli in Sargeant’s seat. Glock has vouched for Mick Schumacher instead. Schumacher drove for the American Haas F1 team in 2021 and 2022. However, the German driver was dropped ahead of the 2023 season after underwhelming results.

In my eyes, there’s only one person who could step in at the moment and that’s Mick Schumacher. Timo Glock said, as reported by PlanetF1

After being cast as the reserve driver for Mercedes in 2023 season, the German has made a returned to the world of racing. Schumacher is currently racing with Alpine in World Endurance Championship. Mick Schumacher has shown promising results so far, making him a viable candidate.

Timo Glock claims Mick Schumacher only driver with ‘experience’ to replace Logan Sargeant

Logan Sargeant has managed to score only one point in his F1 career since making his debut last season. The American driver was even made to sit out of the Australian GP after Alex Albon’s chassis suffered severe damage.

Timo Glock claimed that Williams needed a driver with experience to replace Sargeant. The Ex-F1 driver reckoned that Schumacher having earlier driven for a Formula one team puts the German at a greater advantage with Antonelli.

There are no active drivers at the moment and no youngsters with experience. Mick is the only one who has the experience to replace him. Timo Glock stated

So far, Williams has not revealed names of any drivers who could partner Albon for the upcoming season. It is clear that Kimi Antonelli and Mick Schumacher are the two ideal candidates to take up Sargeant’s seat. However, it remains to be seen if the American driver manages to win a contract extension from the Grove-based team.
