Jenson Button is in the hunt for yet another championship to add to his lengthy racing resume.

The 2009 F1 champion not only has another LMDh team to call home, but he also will be racing full-time, joining Hertz Team JOTA as the final driver for the 2024 season.

Button, slated to be driving for Wayne Taylor Racing's #40 Acura efforts at Daytona in the Rolex 24, will be jumping back behind the wheel of a Porsche LMDh, with prior experience coming at Road Atlanta with JDC-Miller Motorsports for the 2023 IMSA season finale.

He will be joining Phil Hanson, who coincidentally is competing for JDC-Miller in the GTP class in IMSA next season, and Oliver Rasmussen in the #38 machine.

For Button, this is a major step up in regards to his driving time for 2024.

2023 was a very busy season for the English-born Formula 1 champ, competing in many different disciplines of racing.

However, Button will be competing in his first full-time schedule since 2019, running a complete Super GT schedule that season.

While Jenson is no stranger to the competition, there is a level of wonder as to how the veteran 43-year-old will fare among what is becoming a star-filled grid in WEC.

You definitely can't deny the success that Button has secured over his illustrious career but many people should question how he will perform with the scheduling, not to mention just the firepower that teams are going to have in his driver lineup.

The Button addition has the feeling of a similar move that happened this week with Shane Van Gisbergen jumping into the Xfinity Series, and competing in the opening ARCA race at Daytona as well.

Button definitely will need to show people that a full-time seat will work, similar to SVG's situation.

Obviously, Button has the experience, but can he still be a factor on the grid? That will be the question.

Luckily for fans, we will get our first glimpse of this 2024 run, beginning with his quest with WTR for a Rolex watch come late January.
